Drum Hill Hunt Club Minutes Meeting September 1st 2010 Meeting was called to order by Mr. Buck, President Treasury report by Danny Boyce. Current Balance $ 4,591.61 He stated all land rent has been paid, except for the Clark woods. Field trial net was $1610.00 and we had 27 dogs. We also need to pay Doris and Rodgers for the land owners supper and tax on the club house. He stated that we are going to contact Mr. Doug Temple for the Clark woods but we must be cautious on our spending. New Business We had a discussion about assessing the membership for more money to cover the land rent for the Clark woods if needed. Mr. Buck asks for a show of hands of the members that was interested in paying more money and the majority was in favor. Also it was brought up, if we assess the membership that we should not raise the dues. Work day was set for September 12 at 8:00am at the club house. Mr. Buck asks did we have insurance on the club house if someone was injured and Danny stated he thought we did but he would check. Eric talked about tree stand safety and how the owners of the stands should check them out before hunting season to make sure they were in good shape and safe. There was a discussion about tree stand manners and how you should call the owner of the stand before using. David Bankston spoke about the N.C. Wildlife Commission’s mentoring program and how you can help new and old hunters. Old Business John Williams stated the field trials went well and ask the membership to give their current phone numbers and email addresses for next years field trials.
